Three Dimensional Drawing

The first task we were given was on perspective drawing based on an introduction to three dimensional drawing. I chose three objects to start with since they had to be made in one, two and three point perspective each. I chose a weight, a table and a polaroid camera.

Once I began working, the fundamentals explained to us on the horizon line and vanishing points became more clear once I applied them to paper. The principles of one point perspective were fairly simple since the objects had to be parallel to my field of vision. I found two point perspective a bit trickier to navigate since the objects had to accurately face sideways and I found that the bottom portion of my table’s legs came out quite tilted and after my personal tutorial learnt I should draw the table not from its top but the base to get the structure right in its box formation.

The objects in three point perspective were certainly the most complex since I found the third vanishing point that would go either upwards or downwards based on my horizon line a bit difficult to draw especially with the weight that I attempted to draw since it was filled with curves in an octagon. The table however came the closest to what I wanted to achieve but the base required work and I didn’t understand why my drawing of the front and back legs weren’t properly diagonal which is what I realized was the problem.
