The next week I made a rough storyboard to work out the timing of my sequence. Since the main features in my VR environment were the marine life that swim by which included puffer fish, jellyfish, a shark and the humpback whale in the end it was important to know the time frame for each to direct the viewer on where to look. I drew my storyboard on paper and wrote down notes to annotate what was happening in each frame from the perspective of the camera.

My VR experience began with a single puffer fish staring at the viewer wide eyes followed by a group of them swimming by, this lead to a group of jellyfish swimming entering the frame. The third was a shark entering via the left hand corner and swimming past the walkway. The final frame is empty at first with a possible camera shake to the environment indicating the incoming whale which fills the top aerial view of the scene as it glides past the camera.
Blender Model
In order to begin the VR process I had to create the environment first in 3D on Blender. I started this by firstly modelling a basic walkway tunnel of my scene and placed this above a large plane which acts as my ocean floor. The surface of my tunnel I placed a concrete material on, followed by a glass material on the tunnel itself. This was a rough design of the space which was a basic idea and rounded in shape to simply experiment with my camera placement and continue modelling the rest of the scene.

I wanted to see how this scene would actually look if it was underwater and so adjusted my world settings and placed a modifier on my ocean floor plane to make it wavy and gave it a sand texture. This finally gave an underwater feel to the environment.

I changed the shape of my glass walkway to a more sci fi space tunnel interior that had a distinct shape language and found this worked better, I even added detailing in this tunnel that was an outline divider textured in a black glass to enhance the endless feel of this walkway tunnel.

Following this I modelled my small puffer fish that was meant to look like it glowed and provided a bit of comedic relief to the realistic scene with its eyes that held not a thought behind them and pink spikes. I placed the little fish to the right of the walkway close to the camera. After my fish I added underwater foliage to the scene that included corals and rocks found on the ocean floor.
