The last few days of the previous week I began importing my blender model into Unreal engine and was faced with quite a few challenges. The process of importing my model into Unreal Engine was a bit tricky as a few of my textures were missing but it was nothing major I couldn’t replace. I saved this file but because of the systems in the studio facing technical issues it caused a bit of a shortage of devices and the one I was using had the newer version of blender downloaded but the other systems didn’t.

This meant I wasn’t able to open the same file on another device without losing nearly all my textures and they coming out white. I tried multiple times to locate the image textures or place the assets in the same folder as my model but this didn’t seem to solve the problem, over this Unreal Engine kept crashing every time I attempted to import my animated rigs as separate files in the glb format.

At this point I redirected my focus to simply editing the scene to look underwater and place my camera within the walkway as I did in Blender, so my environment was the only outcome I had in Unreal engine. I found the time frame left to figure out this new software almost entirely alone was not simple and I found navigating my scene in Unreal itself rather slow and complex.

For the final outcome I rendered my animation on Blender and edited a soundscape over it and for my submission of the Unreal engine project folder I unpacked all files.
